Ishpeming- Betty J. Denney, age 95, Ishpeming resident passed away Friday, October 27, 2017 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming where she has been a resident for the past month.

Betty was born March 7, 1922 at home in National Mine to the late John and Sarah (Gill) Cardew.  She attended school in National Mine.   Betty worked for the H.W. Gossard Company.

Betty enjoyed knitting, playing cards, listening to music, reading receipts to find new things to cook and bake, she was known for her wonderful heavy cake.  Betty also had a positive attitude and set goals for her self everyday.

Betty is survived by 2 sons: Ronald Denney of Negaunee and Gary (Norma) Denney of Ishpeming, 2 granddaughters: Mary and Shannyn Denney, 2 sisters: Eliza Goudge of Kalamazoo, MI and Olive Solomon of Ishpeming along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband William J. Denney, a son William G. Denney, 5 brothers: Roy, Lloyd, George, Leslie and Louis Cardew and 2 sisters: Beatrice Cardew and Leona Shepard.

Betty's family will greet relatives and friends from 1:00-2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming where a memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm with Rev. Doug Norquist officiating.

A luncheon will follow at the Faith Lutheran Church, Co. Rd 581 Ishpeming.
