Ishpeming, MI - Bertha W. Uuro, age 88, of 604 N. First St. Ishpeming, MI, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023, at UP Health System Bell in Ishpeming.

Bertha was born in Elo, Michigan on January 6, 1935, a daughter of the late Emma (Anderson) and Evert  Maki. Bertha was a homemaker tending to the needs of her family and had also been an aide at a nursing home in FL for a few years. She enjoyed reading and crossword puzzles and was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church.

Bertha is  survived by four daughters, Debbie Uuro and Cheryl Uuro both of Ishpeming, Marlena Uuro and Elizabeth Staden both of of Snellville, GA; two sons John Uuro and Robert Uuro both of Ishpeming; brother in law, George (Betty) Uuro, sisters in law, Lillian Swanson and Dorothy Meyer; 6 grandchildren - Joshua, Talia, Nathan, Jason, Kristie, Nina; 7 great grandchildren - Seth, Kellan, Jasmine, Mason, Gladious, Nova, Cambria, and a lifelong friend Gloria Lantto; She was preceded in death by her husband Leslie in 1999, infant son, Jay Uuro; brothers - Arnold, Arthur, Benhart, Werner and Llmar Maki.

A private graveside service will be held at the Ishpeming Cemetery with the Rev. Steven Weston officiating.
