Ishpeming- Bernard Chester Vicary, age 97, of 111 Bluff St. Ishpeming, passed away Monday, January 287, 2008 at the Marquette Medical Care Facility.

Bernard was born January 17, 1911 in Ishpeming to the late Chester and Lillie (Atwell) Vicary. Bernard attended Ishpeming High School and was employed at the Butler Theatre and the Airport Drive-In for many years. He married Irene Tippett on July 27, 1947 in Ishpeming. He was self employed at Vicary's Grocery Store in Ishpeming, owning and operating the business for many years. Bernard was a member of the Odd fellows Lodge and enjoyed playing cribbage.

Bernard is survived by his wife of 60 years, Irene of Ishpeming, a son Thomas C. (Laurel) Vicary of Houston, TX, a daughter-in-law Leona Lawry of Ishpeming, 9 grandchildren: Bruce Lawry, Bernie (Cindy) Lawry, Pam (Mike) Timm, Sean (Diane) Vicary, Brent (Michelle) Vicary, Cindy Martineau, John (Rayme) Martineau, Michelle Martineau and Penny (Frank) Mallett, 12 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Bernard is preceded in death by a brother Melvin Vicary and a son David Lawry.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM on Thursday, January 31, 2008 at Grace Episcopal Church in Ishpeming with Richard Graybill officiating. Bernard's family will greet friends and relatives from 10:00AM until the time of service at the church. Inurnment will take place at a later date in the Ishpeming Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Sean and Brent Vicary, Bernie, Bruce and Jonathon Lawry, and Josh Timm.
