Basil D. Stolen
Seattle, WA- Basil Dewey Stolen, age 66 former Ishpeming resident, passed away Sunday, July 10, 2011 in Seattle.
Basil was born September 17, 1944 in Ishpeming to Harold & Ruth (Larson) Stolen. He graduated from National Mine High School. Basil was a Navy Submarine Veteran. Following his discharge from the Department of the Navy he went to work as a Merchant Seaman mainly along the west coast, which he did until retirement several years ago.
Basil is survived by his wife Myong Soon Stolen whom he married January 13, 1973 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Ishpeming. Basil is also survived by his brother Olof (Pam) Stolen, nieces Jennifer (Paul) Fanson and Wang Jin Carnes and nephews Andrew (Amanda) Stolen, & John Carnes.
A Celebration of his life will be held 11:00am on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming with Rev Warren Geier officiating. Inurnment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am.
