Ishpeming- Barbara Jean Raisanen, age 78 formerly of 930 Co. Rd. PPR Ishpeming, passed away Friday, September 10, 2010 at the Bell Hospital. Barb has been a resident at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility for the past 4 years.

Barb was born June 14, 1932 in Negaunee to the Joseph & Florence (Larsli) Kratz, and she graduated from St. Paul's High School in Negaunee. Barb worked at the H.W. Gossard and more recently worked at Mama Mia's Restaurant and Osty's Restaurant.

Barb was an avid Packer fan; she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, spending time at camp and playing BINGO. She enjoyed time spend with family and friends and was always willing to help others.

Barb is survived by 3 children: Brian (Kim) Raisanen of Ishpeming, Nancy Raisanen of Marquette and Carol St. Aubin of Gwinn, a sister Susan Wing of Appleton, WI an Aunt Marie Kratz of Negaunee, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. Barb was preceded in death by her parents, husband John and 2 sisters: Rita Beckert and Ann Ellsworth.

Funeral services will be held 4:00pm on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Lahners officiating. Interment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday at Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home from 2:00pm until the time of service at 4:00pm.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Kratz, Mark Raisanen, Michael Raisanen and Keith Magnuson.

A luncheon will be held at the Faith Lutheran Church Co. Rd. 581 Ishpeming, following the funeral service.
