Ishpeming – Barbara D. Perrault age 93, Ishpeming resident, passed away Friday, December 30, 2016 at home while in the loving care of her family and the U.P. Home Health and Hospice.
Barbara was born March 15, 1923 in Ashland, WI to Charles & Emma (Heaney) Dufek. She graduated from DePadua High School in Ashland and received an x-ray certification from St. Joseph Hospital in Ashland. She worked as an x-ray technician in Ashland, WI, Duluth, MI and Grand Rapids, MN prior to working at Bell Memorial Hospital in Ishpeming from 1946 until she retired in 1972. She married Paul "Joe" Perrault on May 7, 1949 in Ashland.
Barbara was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ishpeming where she was a member of the Guild. She enjoyed blueberry picking, canning, knitting and crocheting and was know for her wonderful homemade bread, she was a true homemaker. She loved being a grandmother to 8 grandchildren and a great grandmother to 12 great grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by 2 daughters: Mary Jo Moore of Newberry, and Kathryn (Art) Gischia of Ishpeming, a son Paul (Janet) Perrault of Ishpeming, 8 grandchildren: Kristin (Kurt) Hoffman, Scott (Rachel) Gischia, Amy Perrault, Brad (Kathy) Gischia, Sarah (T.J.) Derwin, Kimberly (Paul) Redding, Jessica (Brian) Bouton-Koehs and Christopher Koehs, 12 great grandchildren: Ashley Wilson, Aili, Eric, Robert, Jareth and Charlie Gischia, Adeline and Ruby Derwin, Sahyra, Khanyisa and Joaquin Koehs, and Finn Redding, sisters in law: Adele Harnett, Rita Perrault and brother in law and sister in law Ray & Carol Perrault, along with several nieces and nephews. Barabara was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul "Joe" Perrault, 3 sisters: Mary Milner, Catherine Margenau and Helen Lulich and 3 brothers: Robert, Joseph and Carl Dufek.
Barbara family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00-11:00 am on Monday January 2, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ishpeming where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am with Fr. Dan Moll and Fr. Larry Van Damme con-celebrating the Mass.
Inurnment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery.
