Humboldt Twp- Barbara C. (Ogea) Ashworth, age 84, former Humboldt Twp resident passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility while surrounded by her loving family.

Barbara was born March 16, 1932 in Mohawk, MI to the late Reino and Alma (Kauppila) Lepisto. She graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1950. Throughout Barbara's life she was devoted to her Lord and Savior, Jesus. She was a wonderful homemaker who raised 7 children and fostered children. She had a love for animals, enjoyed the outdoors and loved picking wild blueberries. Barbara volunteered her time doing missionary work at the State Prison.

Barbara had a quest for learning: she was an LPN, certified in holistic medicine, natural healing and massage therapy. She was also a tax specialist, an airplane pilot and she rode over 100,000 miles on her motorcycles, often with her Christian Motorcycle Association.

Barb is survived by 7 children: Carolyn "Lynn" (Glenn) Koski, Dennis (Yong) Ombrello, Pete Ogea, Jeff (Rene) Ogea, Robert (Linn Carlson) Ogea, Ruth (Andy) Kandoll, and Ron (Heather) Ogea, 17 grandchildren: Tina (Chris "Chops" Polkinghorne) Koski, Kyle Koski, Clay (Sherrell) Koski, Dr. Chris (Amanda Zittel) Ombrello, Johnny (April) Ombrello, AJ (Diedra Lackie) Ogea Ombrello, Jennifer Ogea, Cody (Samantha) Ogea, Joe (Melanie) Ogea, Jackie (Brian) Harvala, Samantha (Mike) Bennett, Ralph Kandoll, Andrea (Travis) Tumberg, Nicole (Trent) Mursu, Harmony (Buddy) Holombo, Chay Ogea and Aaron Ogea, 25 great grandchildren, a sister Nancy (Don) Mattson, a brother Earl Duane Lepisto, sister-in-law Nancy Lepisto along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Barb was preceded in death by her parents Alma & Reino Lepisto, 3 husbands: Peter Ombrello, Ralph Ogea and Everett "Ash" Ashworth, 2 brothers: Ronald and Jack Lepisto and 2 sisters-in-law: Helen and Phyllis Lepisto.

Barb's family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 from 12:00 noon until 2:00pm at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming where a memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm with Herb Jarvi and Dave Lappi officiating. Inurnment will take place in the spring at Northland Chapel Gardens.

A luncheon will follow the service at the Humboldt Township Hall.
