Ishpeming - Barbara Jean Holmgren, age 77, of 618 Park St. Ishpeming went to be with her Lord on Tuesday Nov 2, 2021.

Barbara was born on October 19, 1944, the daughter of Irving and Olive Larson. Barbara graduated from Ishpeming High School in 1962. She married George Holmgren, her 7 ^th grade sweetheart, on February 12, 1965. She was employed at the Peninsula Bank as a bookkeeper, retiring in 1998.

Barbara lived for her family, and loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and her great grandchild. She enjoyed life's simple pleasures, spending time with her husband at their summer cottage north of Ishpeming, taking a drive to have dinner out, and preparing wonderful meals for her family whenever she had the opportunity to gather everyone at her table.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 56 years, George, two sons, Michael, and Keith (Sherri) Holmgren, grandchildren Steven, Brandon, Joanna, Kyra, and Luke Holmgren, great grandson Grayson Holmgren, a sister Sharon (Gerald) Smeltzer, brothers Richard (Patti) Larson and Larry (Sandy) Larson, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at the Bjork Zhulkie Funeral Home. Entombment will take place in the Rest in Peace Columbarium at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
