Ishpeming – Barbara C. Bye, age 81, longtime Ishpeming resident passed away on Monday, November 21, 2016 at the Eastwood Nursing Center in Negaunee.

Barbara was born on December 25, 1934 in Ishpeming the daughter of the late Frederick and Helen (Parviainen) Bye. She attended the Ishpeming Public Schools and was a graduate of the Ishpeming High School, Class of 1954, and had recently attended her 62 ^th Class reunion this past summer. Barbara was a lifelong area resident. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church and faithful listener of the Trinity Lutheran Church services on the radio.

Barb enjoyed shopping trips to Marquette, watching old TV shows, and especially the TV game show Wheel of Fortune. She would play Wheel of Fortune at the Eastwood Nursing Center along with attending the music concerts their. Barb was also a regular at the Negaunee City Band concerts. She especially enjoyed weekend trips to the Price family camp on Big Shag Lake. Barb always remembered her family and friends with cards on special occasions. She cared for her mom for 20 years in their Ishpeming home after her father's passing in the late 1970's. In her later years she enjoyed providing watchful care for her nephews dog Curly.

Survivors include her sister Judy (Bill) Franson of Jacksonville, FL, brother-in-law Don "Booner" Price of Negaunee, nephew Gary (Adele) Price of Negaunee, nieces – Lori (Gary) Garceau of Burnsville, MN, Linda Nicholls of Negaunee, Jana (Mark) Nicholls of Ishpeming, Beth (Lewis) Wells of Raleigh, NC, Lynn (Dave) Godfrey of Gainsville, FL and Valerie (Fred) Dale of Jacksonville, FL, along with many great nieces and nephews and she especially loved her visits from her great great nephew Easton Saari. She is also survived by a special friend Marilyn Johnson. Barb was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Shirley Price.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Ishpeming with the Rev. Kenneth Lahners to officiate. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery. The family will greet relatives and friends from 2:00pm – 3:00pm on Sunday at the Trinity Lutheran Church.

Barbara's family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at the Eastwood Nursing Center along with Pastor Ken Lahners for his visits and prayers.
