Republic- Athena C. "Tina" Engle, age 67, Republic resident passed away Saturday January 24, 2015 at the U.P. Health System Marquette.
Athena was born August 17, 1947 in Chicago, IL to Gust & Grace (Timpanaro) Matsukis. Tina was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Republic where she volunteered her time for the pasty sales and the soup suppers. She was always willing to help other without any fuss. Tina was a generous supporter of the Adopt the Family Program through the St. Vincent DePaul of Republic & Crystal Falls. She enjoyed long walks and had a love for her dogs.
Tina is survived by a sister Catherine Burns of Palm Harbor, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband John in August 2014.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Tina & John Engle at 11:00 am on Tuesday May 12, 2015 at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Republic with Fr. Dan Moll officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am.
