Obituary

Ishpeming - ARVID C. "BUTCH" THIBODEAU, age 65, of 775 Elliott Ave, Ishpeming passed away on Monday, June 13, 2011 at his home while under the loving care of his family and Upper Peninsula Home Health & Hospice.

Butch was born on April 3, 1946 in Marquette, MI. He was the son of Margueritte (Harvey) Thibodeau and the late Arvid Thibodeau Sr. Butch graduated from Iron River High School, class of 1964. He worked as an electrician for the Cleveland Cliffs Tilden Mine. After retiring with over 30 years at CCI, he worked as a courier for Bell Memorial Hospital. He was also an active member of the Ishpeming Elks Lodge #447.

Butch enjoyed riding in his mustang convertible, traveling, visiting his beloved mother, watching
Westerns, and was an avid Hematite fan. His canine companion Jasper was often by his side. Butch recently married his wife Julie on October 23, 2010. They were able to share many wonderful years together before his battle with cancer claimed his life. He was a loving father to his stepchildren Kristen Carlson and Brandt Freidank. Everyone that knew him enjoyed his sense of humor.

Survivors include his wife Julie (Freidank) Thibodeau, stepdaughter Kristen (Carl) Carlson of
Ishpeming, stepson Brandt (Sara) Freidank of Santa Fe, NM, mother Margueritte Thibodeau of
Ishpeming, sister Judy (William) Frailing of Ishpeming, daughters Carol (Martin) Kilberg and Roberta (John) Janesch of Ohio, four grandchildren who held a special place in his heart, Ana & Jonathan Kilberg, Jenna & Jackson Janesch and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Arvid Thibodeau Sr., and sister, Kay Anderson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00PM on Friday, June 17, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ishpeming with Fr. James Challancin officiating.

The family will receive relatives and friends at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday from 11:00am until 1:00pm. The Ishpeming Elks Lodge will conduct a memorial service at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday at 11:30am.
