Ishpeming- Anthony P. "Tony" Bertucci, age 77 of 220 S. Lilac St. Ishpeming, passed away Saturday, September 18, 2010 at his home under the loving care of his family and UP Home Health & Hospice.
Anthony was born February 6, 1933 in Ishpeming to Dominic & Catherine (Sarvello) Bertucci. He graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1951. Tony served his country in the United States Navy from 1952 until 1956.
Tony worked for Cleveland Cliffs from many years, retiring as a Supervisor from the Empire Mine in 1992. He was a life long resident except for a couple years living in Chicago. Tony was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He was an avid Packer fan, enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time at camp on Lake Michigamme, but most of all loved spending time with his family.
Tony is survived by his wife Colleen (Kemp) Bertucci, whom he married July 11, 1953, 2 children: Vickie (Michael) Suardini and Paul (Cindy) Bertucci both of Ishpeming, 3 grandchildren: Linda (Brad) Zhulkie, Michael Suardini both of Ishpeming and Mark Bertucci of Minneapolis, 4 great grandchildren: Brittany Zhulkie, Bradly Zhulkie, Anthony J. Suardini and Colton Bertucci along with nieces and nephews. Tony was preceded in death by his parents Dominic and Catherine and a brother Dominic.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated 5:00PM Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Fr. Greg Heikkala officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends on Wednesday at the church from 4:00-5:00.
