Obituary

Ishpeming- Anna Sue Norell, age 85 of 794 Juniper St. Ishpeming, passed away Sunday, May 10, 2009 at the Marquette General
Hospital.

Sue was born September 10, 1923 in Gladstone, Michigan to Clifford & Helen (Long) Murker. She graduated from Gladstone High School in 1941. Sue worked as an assistant cashier for the First National Bank of Negaunee for 20 years retiring in 1980.

Sue was an active member of the Bethany Lutheran Church of Ishpeming where she belonged to the Women's Martha Circle. She also was a member of Eastern Star and the Wawonowin Country Club. Sue was awarded the Fan of the Year in 2004 by the Ishpeming Booster Club for being an avid basketball fan for over 50 years. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing bridge and going shopping with her family.

Anna is survived by 3 children: Karen (Jerry) Plaisier of Ishpeming, Bruce (Bunny) Norell of Petersburg, MI and Kathy (Paul) Kish of McMillan, MI, 4 grandchildren: Kerry (Jason) Simons, Mark (Brenda) Clements both of De Pere, WI, Jennifer (Tom) Williams of Marinette, WI and Brett (Becky) Norell of Brookfield, WI, 8 great grandchildren: Samantha, Brady, Keaton, Anna, Carter, Keira, Laila, and Trent, 2 sisters: Lois Thompson of Escanaba and Rita Kleiman of Gladstone along with many nieces and nephews. Sue was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Helen Murker, the love of her life, husband Reno Norell and a sister Gen Pickard.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at the Bethany Lutheran Church in Ishpeming with Rev. Warren Geier officiating. Interment will take place in the Ishpeming Cemetery.

Family and friends may call at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5:00-8:00 PM and on Wednesday at the Bethany Lutheran Church from 3:00 PM until the time of service at 4:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers memorial considerations may be directed to the Bethany Lutheran Church memorial fund in memory of Anna Sue Norell.

Sue's family would like to give a special thanks to the Marquette Dialysis Unit for the care given to Anna Sue for the past 3 years.
