Ishpeming – Ann L. Wood, age 84, of 1891 Hewitt St. Ishpeming passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at the Marquette Co. Medical Care Facility in Ishpeming where she had been a resident for the past year and a half.

Ann was born September 1, 1931 in Ishpeming the daughter of the late William and Gladys (Renstrom) Quayle. She was a lifelong Ishpeming resident, graduating from the Ishpeming High School with the Class of 1949. Ann had worked at the Bell Memorial Hospital as a switchboard operator following high school. She then became a receptionist for Dr. Tobin's office where she worked for many years.

Ann was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Ishpeming where she had been active with the Bell Choir, Pasty making and the United Methodist Women. Ann enjoyed being with her family especially around the holidays. She enjoyed camping, shopping and reading a good book.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, John "Jack" Wood of Ishpeming, 2 sons – Robert Wood of Royal Oak and Byron (Kristi) Wood of Friendswood, TX, two grandchildren – Bryan and Stella Wood, 2 nieces – Lynn Jandron and Patti Davis, nephew Glen Jandron along with numerous great nieces and great nephews. Ann was preceded in death by a sister Florence Jandron.

The Wood family will greet relatives and friends from 11:00am – 12:00noon on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at the Wesley United Methodist Church. A memorial service will follow at 12:00noon at the Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. JJ Mannschreck to officiate. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the services in the church hall.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be directed to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org
