Ishpeming - Amy L. Fredrickson, age 64, of 1900 Stoneville Rd. Tilden Twp., passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Trillium Hospice House in Marquette, following a ten-year battle with cancer.

Amy was born in Marquette on May 25, 1954, daughter of the late Irma (Waara) and Ernest Potila.  Amy was raised in National Mine and later graduated from Westwood High School through the adult night education program.  She was first and foremost a homemaker while raising her family. Amy then worked as a secretary at Faith Lutheran Church for several years and then through the Ishpeming Senior Center doing in home care for the elderly. Amy loved camping and the peacefulness of watching the carp river from her deck at home. She will be fondly remembered as a quiet, family-oriented soul, who especially enjoyed her grandkids.

Amy is  survived by her husband George G. Fredrickson of Ishpeming, daughters - Audrey (Levi) Puuri of Marquette, Holly (Tony) Slawinski of Suomi Loc., and son Boone Fredrickson of Ishpeming, four sisters, Laura Korte of National Mine, Pat (Wayne) Johnson of Negaunee, Cheryl Kier of TN, and Sue Winslow, of AL; three brothers, Sonny (Sherri) Potila of TX; Kent (Lisa) Potila of Ishpeming and Danny Potila, of Ishpeming, 5 grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Candace Potila and brother Joe Potila.

Cremation will take place with private family services to take place in the spring.
