Ishpeming Twp- Allen W. Koivula, age 71 Ishpeming Township resident passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017 at his residence.

Allen was born February 2, 1946 in Ishpeming to the late Martin W. and Anna V. (Trondson) Koivula.  He graduated from Ishpeming High School, class of 1964 and served his country in the U.S. Navy.

Allen worked for Pitney Bowes Company, selling and maintaining postage meters.  He was a member of the Wawonowin Country Club where he enjoyed golfing along with traveling to other golf clubs to play golf.  He enjoyed wintering in Alabama and Georgia.

Allen is survived by 2 sisters: Helen (Ernest) Johnson of Marquette and Victoria (Gary) Baldini of Ishpeming, a brother Rodney (Virginia) Koivula of Ishpeming along with numerous nieces, nephews, sisters in law, and brothers in law.  Allen was preceded in death by his parents, wife Patricia Ann Koivula in 2012 and 3 brothers: Edward, Jack and Robert Koivula.

Allen's family will greet relatives and friends from 11:00am-12:00 noon on Friday December 22, 2017 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming where funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon with Rev. Lauri O. Maki officiating.

Military honors will be accorded by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 380.

A luncheon will follow the service at Trinity Lutheran Church 414 E. Ridge St. Ishpeming, MI.

Interment will take place at Restlawn Memorial Park in Wausau, Wisconsin.
