Apple Valley, CA - Allen R. Jones, 74 of Apple Valley and former Ishpeming resident died Wednesday, April 1st 2015. Al had a long bout with cancer.

Al was born April 5, 1940 in Daytona Beach, Florida and moved with the family to Ishpeming at an early age. He attended the Ishpeming High School then entered the U.S. Navy. After the Navy, Al worked for Zale`s Jewelers and became a manager for Zale`s in Fresno, CA. He worked for Certified Appliance and retired in 2002. Al loved to travel and took many trips to Hawaii and Las Vegas, his two favorite destinations. He also toured Australia and went on some cruises to the Caribbean. He also enjoyed returning to Ishpeming, on occasion, to visit friends and family. He was a good singer, played the guitar and drums and played in a band for many years. Al was a sports fan and coach. He coached Pop Warner football in California and while in Ishpeming coached with the Westwood Patriots JV football team.

Al was preceded in death by John V. Jones, his father in 1958 and his mother, Edith H. Jones in 2002 along with his sister, Nancy Kestila in 2005. He is survived by his daughters, Anna Glannville, Victoria Esturi and Sons, Allen Jones Jr. and John Jones all residing in California and brothers, David Jones from Ishpeming and Gary Jones from California. He is also survived by three granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Jones will have a military, veterans memorial service and will be interred in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Riverside, California.
