Ishpeming- Allen J. Anttila, age 80, lifelong Ishpeming resident, passed away on February 13, 2025, at the SKLD Nursing Home in Bloomfield Hills where he recently moved, while in the loving care of his family, and nursing home staff.

Allen was born in Ishpeming on September 9, 1944, son of the late Ed and Angela (Luca) Anttila. He was a graduate of Ishpeming High School. Allen owned and operated Al's Party Store, worked at Willey's Tire Shop, SA Abraham and Son's as a distributor, and later worked for his son Brett at Anttila's Towing, retiring in 2018.

Allen was a member of the Ishpeming Elks where he served as Exulted Ruler and as a State Ritual Judge, and was also a member of the Lion's Club and the Ishpeming Pool League. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing pool, was a car enthusiast, enjoying meeting with the remaining members of the Peninsula Piston Car Club on Saturday mornings for breakfast at Sherries Restaurant. He loved visiting his grandchildren, and when his boy were younger, he loved spending time at the Michigamme Shores campground.

Allen is survived by 2 sons- Scott (Edith) and Brett (Chris) Anttila, 4 grandchildren- Grant and Sannah Anttila, Tyler and Brittney LaPoint, 2 great grandchildren- Xander and Derrek LaPointe, brother- Bob (Kathy) Anttila, several nieces and nephews, and special friends John Koski, and David Ricksed. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother- Wayne Anttila, sister- Cheryl Perraud, uncle and aunt- Clifford and Mary Amell, and special friend Leona Darling.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring.
