Ishpeming Twp- Alice S. Korpi, age 79 of 205 Silver St. West Ishpeming, passed away Tuesday June 9, 2015 at the UP Health System Marquette.

Alice was born July 4, 1935 in Republic to Ernest & Sylvia (Warlin) Kerkela. She graduated from Republic High School, class of 1953. Alice enjoyed playing cribbage and throwing horseshoes. She was a member of the Riverside Club in West Ishpeming and a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed time spent at the family camp, K Camp. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews throughout the years

Alice is survived by a son Wayne Korpi of Diamondhead, MS, son in law James Kipling of Ishpeming, 2 sisters: LaVerne Noasconi of Stephenson, MI, Faye (Charles) Mattila of Republic, 2 grandchildren: Brian Kipling and Kara (fiance Josh) Kipling, 2 great grandchildren: Jaren & Jayce Kipling, sister in law Kathy Kerkela of Republic along with nieces and nephews. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Peggy Kipling, a brother Ernie Kerkela and a sister Gladys M. Dawson.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday June 15th at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Ishpeming with Rev. Lauri O. Maki officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends at the Bethel Lutheran Church on Monday from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am.

A luncheon will be held in the church fellowship hall following the service.
