Ishpeming- Alice J. Jacobson, age 86, lifelong Ishpeming resident passed away, Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Marquette County Medical Care Facility while in the loving care of her family, staff of MCMCF and UP Home Health and Hospice.

Alice was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on September 6, 1932, a daughter of the late Ruth (Blight) and Thomas Champion.   She attended school in National Mine.

Alice worked at Bell Memorial Hospital for many years, retiring as Laundry Supervisor.  She was an excellent piano player, enjoyed crocheting, and spending time at camp with family and friends.

Alice is survived by a daughter, Julie (Pete) Quayle, of Ishpeming,

two sons Robert "Shakers" (Bonnie) Jacobson, of St. Petersburg, FL; and Michael "Yikes" Jacobson, of Ishpeming, grandchildren: Jeff (Amanda) Jacobson, Jodi (Andrew) Eliason, and James (Sarah) Walker, great grandchildren: Brady and Paisley Jacobson, Lola and Wyatt Eliason, Rose,  Roselyne, and Larry Walker, brothers: Samuel Champion of Ishpeming, Ronald (Patricia) Champion of Iron Mountain and Roy (Glyda) Champion of Maryland, along with several nieces and nephews including special caring nieces, Donna Besander and Sherry Conradson.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, former husband Eugene Jacobson, 2 sisters Helen Wickstrom, and Janice Heikkila Taylor, and 2 brothers: Thomas Jr., and Clyde Champion.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home in Ishpeming, with Rev. James Hill officiating.  The family will greet relatives and friends from 1:00pm until the time of service.

Inurnment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.

The family would like to give a special "thank you" to the staff at MCMCF for the wonderful care given to Alice.
