Ishpeming – Alecia Anne McKane, age 54, of 837 N. Pine St., Ishpeming passed away on Monday, April 28, 2014 at her home in Ishpeming.

Alecia was born in Ithaca, NY and had grown up in foster care homes in her early life.  She graduated from high school and entered the United States Army, being stationed in Texas.  Upon her honorable discharge from the service she moved to Ishpeming, MI and had resided here since.  She was presently working as a cook at the Congress in Ishpeming, and had previously worked in the Parks and Rec. Dept. for the City of Marquette.

Alecia was active with the Iron Range Women's Softball League, Ishpeming-Negaunee Women's Horseshoe League and the Ishpeming Women's Pool League.  She was an avid Detroit Lions Fan, and also enjoyed gardening her heirloom vegetables, fishing and BINGO.  Her feline pets Marly and Oreo were most special to her.

Alecia is survived by Toni Bressette, whom she considered her daughter and her fiancé Justin Orlich of Ishpeming, Brayden Orlich whom she considered her grandson, and close friends Cheryl Bressette, Rosemarie Sundberg and Judy Campbell all of Ishpeming.

Alecia's family and friends will gather at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home from 1:00 – 2:00 pm on Friday May 2, 2014 where a memorial service will be celebrated at 2:00pm with the Rev. John Roy to officiate.  Inurnment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens.  A luncheon will follow the services at the Ishpeming VFW.
