Ishpeming – Albert "Al" J. Longtine, age 61, of 210 Maple St Ishpeming, passed away Sunday night, June 1, 2008 at Mather Nursing Center in Ishpeming Township.

Al was born in Ishpeming on October 16, 1946, the son of the late Albert and Melissa (Pryor) Longtine. He was a 1964 graduate of Ishpeming High School. Albert married Gail Verran on August 15, 1970.

Al was a scout master for many years in Ishpeming and Escanaba for the Boy Scouts of America. He was also a member of the Order of the Arrow and enjoyed shooting and electronics.

Albert is survived by his wife Gail of 37 years, children: Peter (Michelle) Longtine of Houghton, and Nancy (Larry Lawrence) Longtine of Ishpeming, 5 grandchildren: Briana, Rebecca, Ashley, Jordan, and Taylor. He was preceded in death by a brother Peter James Longtine, and a grandson John Michael Longtine.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, in Ishpeming at 11:00AM on Thursday, June 5, 2008 with Rev. Fr. Greg Heikkala officiating. The family will greet friends and relatives from 10:00AM until the time of service at the church. Interment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery Ishpeming.

Pallbearers will be James Hafeman, Ronald Lehtinen, David Racine, Joseph Erickson and Phillip Pai.
