Republic, MI- Aileen Louise "Ikey" Todd, age 56, Republic resident passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023, at UP Health System Bell, Ishpeming.

Aileen was born in Ishpeming, Michigan on July 2, 1966, a daughter of the Myrna M. (Aho) and the late John J. Todd. Ikey graduated from Republic Michigamme High School in 1984, attended NMU where she received her costmetology certificate. She owned and operated the Beauty Nook in Republic.

Ikey was one of the originals to start the Annual Fishing Derby in Republic back in 1990, 32 years working the derby and volunteered working the UP 200 sled dog races for 25 years. Ikey was the first recipient to receive the Beverly Stroh Award for best volunteer. The Beverly Stroh Award is given to a long-standing volunteer for the races. She was an animal lover and an avid Chicago Cubs and Pittsburg Steelers fan. Ikey is pain free now, smiling and running with Bruiser in Heaven.

Ikey is survived by her mother Myrna Todd, three sisters, Lynette (Robert) Martin, Debi Geiger, and Valerie Byrnes, a brother, Michael (Samantha) Todd, along with several nieces and nephews and a special friend Shane. She was preceded in death by her father John Todd.

Ikey's family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at the Bethany Lutheran Church 110 Poplar St. Republic, MI 49879 where a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am, with Rev. Alex Ross to officiate.

A luncheon will follow in the church fellowship hall.

Inurnment will take place at the Republic Township Cemetery.
