Ishpeming – Agnes M. Pietro, age 91, formerly of 2460 Co. Rd. 496, Ishpeming passed away on Monday December 28, 2009 at the Mather Nursing Center in Ishpeming Twp. where she had resided for the past six years.


Agnes was born March 5, 1918 in Marquette the daughter of the late Edward and Della (Dionne) Longtine. She married the late Lawrence "Speed" Pietro and together they raised two sons. She was a homemaker, enjoying time spent at camp, trout fishing with her husband along with gardening. She was a member of the St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.


Survivors include two sons – Steven (Karen) Pietro of Negaunee and David Pietro of Ishpeming, a brother Gerald (Laila) Longtine of Harvey, 5 grandchildren – Pamela Dodge, Kristine Arseneau, Stephanie Kecker, Ashley Pietro & Lacey Pietro, 7 great grandchildren – Karl Hendrix, Dylan Hendrix, Johanna Hendrix, Alex Arseneau, Noah Arseneau, Dallas Kecker & Lyric Kecker, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Pietro in 2002, her parents, 4 brothers – Joseph, Lawrence, Clarence and Harold Longtine and 3 sisters – Audrey Peterson, Marie Wittler and Pasty Longtine.


The family will greet relatives and friends from 10:00am until 11:00am on Saturday January 2, 2010 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home where a memorial service will be held at 11:00am with the Rev. Fr. Greg Heikkala to officiate. Inurnment will take place at the Ishpeming Cemetery.
