Obituary

Ishpeming – Agnes I. Peterson age 96, longtime Ishpeming resident, passed away Friday, April 7, 2017 while at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility where she had resided since April of 2016.

Agnes was born on August 3, 1920 in Ishpeming to the late William and Jennie (Johnson) Quayle. She was one of 12 children in her family. Agnes attended school through the 10 th grade before later marrying John P. Peterson. She was a member of the Mission Covenant Church where she sang in the choir and was a soloist since the late 30's and through the 1980's. Agnes loved dogs especially Brandy who was most noted as her favorite. She was a good cook, and loved to bake. She had a love for young kids, infants, and babies. Agnes enjoyed politics, crossword puzzles, and enjoyed giving to others. In her and John's early years she was understanding of his love for her and his passion for fly fishing.

Agnes is survived by her 2 children – Paul (Joanne) Peterson of Aurora, IL, John (Midge) Peterson of Ishpeming, 4 grandchildren – Michelle (Drew) Powers, Brad (Stephanie) Peterson, Brooke (Eric Martin) Peterson, John (Jen) Peterson, 5 great grandchildren – Nick, Avery, Luis-John, Isabel, Cadence, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband John P. Peterson, 11 siblings – Hub Quayle, William Quayle, Norman Quayle, Malcolm "Mecca" Quayle, Art Quayle, Jennie Ennett, Borghild Carlson, Florence Tinkham, Margaret Quayle, Ruth Rogers, and Florence Quayle.

A graveside services and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
