Obituary

Ishpeming- Aaron L. Maki, age 32 of 220 Co. Rd. PFA Ishpeming (Tilden Twp.) passed away Wednesday, May 24, 2012 at his home.

Aaron was born August 7, 1979 in Walnut Creek, CA to Donald & Eleanore (Hytinen) Maki. He graduated from Geneva Community High School in Geneva, IL in 1998 and received an Associated Degree from Waubonsee Community College in 2001. Aaron continued with his education at Michigan Technological University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 2006 and in 2011 earned another Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology and a 1 year certificate in Computer Numerical Control (CNC) from Northern Michigan University. Aaron also received Pro Engineering training at Butler International in Peoria, IL.

Aaron worked locally at OfficeMax in 2005 and prior to that employment worked at two different golf country clubs in the catering/banquet business. His most recent employment was at Moulding Service in Naperville, IL in the manufacturing department. Aaron's hobbies included fishing, hiking, computers, cooking, and rock & mineral collecting. Aaron was a member of the Finnish Club while at NMU and a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Ishpeming.

Aaron is survived by his parents Don & Eleanore Maki of Ishpeming, a brother Steven (Kirsten) Maki of Bealeton, VA, a sister Lynn (Steve) Bartels of Aurora, IL, a niece Heather Maki and 4 nephews: Jeff Maki, Justin, Devin and Dexter Verner, an aunt Lynn (Ray) Kenny of Champion along with four cousins. Aaron was preceded in death by his grandparents Arne & Sally Maki, and Arthur & Rosalie Hytinen.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, June 2nd starting at 10:00am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am with Fr. Greg Heikkala officiating.

Interment will take place at Northland Chapel Gardens.

A luncheon will be held following the Funeral Mass in the K/D Hall at St. Johns Catholic Church.

Pallbearers will be Steve Bartels, Justin Verner, Devin Verner, and Dexter Verner
