Milwaukee, WI - David B. Niemi, age 59, former Michigamme resident currently of Milwaukee, WI, passed away Monday, January 3, 2022, at Froedtert Hospital.

David was born in Ishpeming on January 8, 1962, a son of the late Shirley M. (Lakonen) and Einar Walter Niemi. He grew up in Michigamme and was a graduate of the Republic-Michigamme High School. David worked as an over the road truck driver for numerous trucking companies throughout the years. While in Michigamme, David was a member of the Michigamme-Spurr Volunteer Fire Department and the West Marquette Co. Men's Pool League.  He enjoyed hunting in his younger years along with playing cribbage, and was a lifelong avid Green Bay Packer fan.

Survivors include a sister, Sherri (Brad DeLongchamp) Niemi of Michigamme; a brother, Daniel (Denae Carlson) Niemi of Ishpeming; niece, Brittany (fiancé Joshua Nantelle) Niemi, great nephew - Maverick Nantelle; along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Graveside Service will be held in the Spring at Northland Chapel Gardens in Negaunee Twp.

The Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
