Kenneth Roy Dionne

Kenneth Roy Dionne Freedom, Wisconsin (Formerly of Champion, Michigan) Kenneth Roy Dionne, 67, passed away peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer’s with his family by his side August 19th, 2012 at King Veterans Home in Waupaca, Wisconsin. He was born on February 11, 1945, in Harvey, Michigan, son of Robert and Leola (Bureau) Dionne.

Ken was raised in Humboldt, Michigan and graduated from Champion High School in 1963. Following graduation Ken served in the United States Navy. In 1964 Ken married Cheryl Mackey and moved to Norfolk, Virginia. In 1967 Ken and Cheryl returned to Michigan, where Ken worked for Cleveland Cliffs Iron Co. Ken was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed many adventures with family and friends.

Ken is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Cheryl Dionne; his daughters Sherry (Erick) Cardew of Freedom Wisconsin and Tammie (Craig) Smith of Waupaca Wisconsin; his grandchildren Kenny and Abby Cardew, and Zachary and Hunter Smith; his sisters Sandra (Bucky) Innerebner and Mary Clare Frisk; his sister-in-laws Kathlyn (Glen) LaCosse, Audrey (Marvin) Ruspakka, Peggy (Darryll) Koschtail, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, August 23, 2012 at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home with Rev. D. Michael Carriere officiating. Interment will take place in the Humboldt Twp Cemetery.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 11:00am until 1:00pm on Thursday at the Bjork & Zhulkie Funeral Home.

The Vietnam Veterans of American Chapter 380 will conduct Military Honors.

Pallbearers will be Paul Latvala, Stephen Johnson, Gary Laitala, Corey Frisk, Bucky Innerebner, and Lee Tonge.

A Luncheon will be held following the service at the 41 Club Steakhouse.
